Our favorite travel camera has dropped below $1,000 ahead of Prime Day – that's a $200 saving. Still, for less than $3,000 you get a full-frame sensor with 45MP still pictures, superb autofocus, and one of the best in-body image stabilization performances. It's an all-round pleasure to shoot with. It's also apt for video, being one of the first hybrid cameras to unleash 8K video, while its 4K video (which has frame rates up 120p) is excellent, too. 

Panasonic Lumix G100 was was $747.99 now $597.99 at Amazon
An oldie but a goodie, the Lumix G100 was a neat vlogging camera when it launched in 2020, delivering superb 4K video and vlogging-friendly features such as Nokia's Ozo voice tracking audio. Effectively a shrunk-down Lumix G85, the G100 has a 20MP micro four thirds sensor with five-axis image stabilization, plus neat features like frame markers to let you preview various different aspect ratios for uploading to social media. This deal includes the compact 12-32mm lens.

Nikon Z f: was £2,499 now £1,876.02 at Amazon
In the Zf, Nikon has created a true Fujifilm alternative for retro fans, and it's cheaper than it has ever been. There's over £600 off for the body only at Amazon UK for the full-frame stunner whose appeal is more than skin deep. It boasts a superb 24.5MP sensor with Nikon's best-ever in-body image-stabilisation plus some unique features for Nikon such as a black and white dial and neat manual focus assist tools that particularly come in handy for Nikon fans adapting their old lenses to match the Zf aesthetic. This deal is up there with the best we've seen ahead of Prime Day 2024. The price is regularly fluctuating. 

Sony Alpha a7 IV: was £2,400 now £2,079 at Amazon
We rate the Alpha a7 IV as the the best mirrorless camera for most people right now - mainly because it's a superb hybrid body that performs for both stills and video. With an excellent 33MP full-frame sensor and game-changing auto-focus system, it's hard to believe you can get all that goodness for such a low price. Now is a great time to consider making the switch since this excellent flagship is currently sitting at its lowest ever price at Amazon UK.

Canon EOS R100 with RF-S 15-45mm lens: was £669.99 now £458.99 at Amazon
Canon's cheapest-ever mirrorless camera the EOS R100 is at a record-equalling low price with the 15-45mm kit lens, for under £500. If you don't need a lens, you can snap it up for £389 at Amazon – which again makes it the cheapest way to get into the Canon RF-mount ecosystem. This APS-C format DSLR-style camera is the smallest and lightest in Canon's line up, and packs the same 24MP sensor as many of its pricier siblings. However, its fixed rear screen is not touch sensitive which will take some adjusting to if you're stepping up from a smartphone. 

Nikon D7500 with AF-SDX NIKKOR 18-140 VR lens: was £1,289 now £965 at Amazon
Save £324: Nikon's all-rounder DSLR with 24MP APS-C sensor has a huge price cut on Amazon, and is also available body only for £749.99 via the same link. One of the most capable DSLRs for enthusiasts, the D7500 packs a 3.2-inch LCD, 8fps burst shooting and super impressive high-ISO performance. If you still like DSLR over mirrorless, this is a real bargain now for one of the few remaining DSLRs still available new.
